Bisate Lodge Treehouses

If you love nature and you are planning to travel to Rwanda, for sure you can’t miss to stay one night in this spot!


Located next to Volcanoes National Park, it’s part of a pioneering onsite indigenous reforestation project. During the day you can hike in the park and meet the native gorillas, golden monkeys, buffalo, elephants and other different habitants of the forrest.

Just 6 treehouses have been built in an area of 103-acre. The tecnique in which these treehouses have been built, it’s an homage to the Rwandan culture. The roof covered of coconut fiber, the facade of wood and finally the parapet with a wattle construction make these treevillas ecological treehouses. The architectural project is designed by Nicholas Plewman, while the interior that took also inspiration by the indigenous tradition is signed by Caline Williams-Wynn and Nilfah Adams from Artichoke. Moreover inside have been used different furniture made by locals or with recycled elements.
