A special treehouse in Kelburn Castle

What have in common a castle of XIII century, famous Brasilian street artists and a Treehouse? The answer is Kelburn Castle!
kelburne castle 2As you can read from the website of Kelburn Castle, “The idea was simple and original: take the vibrant and often transient art form of Brazilian graffiti, out of its predominantly urban context and apply it to the ancient and permanent walls of a historic rural castle in Scotland”.

From 2007 the Brasilian street artists Nina Pandolfo, Nunca and Os Gêmeos lived for almost a month on the castle and decorated it. Unlucky you have time until summer 2015 to travel to Glasgow and take a look at this mural, then it will be destroyed by the authorities, since a part of the castle  -built in the 50s years- wasn’t authorized.
Also a treehouse is drawn and the people at the windows are like the habitants of the treehouse!
Street art and architecture are perfectly combined in this work!

In 2011 this mural was named as one of the world’s top 10 examples of street art!
