La Piantata

Renzo Stucchi, owner with his wife of an organic farm in Viterbo (Italy), as a reminder of the tree house he had when he was a child, asked to La Cabane Perchee Architects to project a tree house on a 800 years old oak.

The tree has a trunk of 4.60m of diameter, is high 25m and has the foliage of 30m and grew on a lavender field and all around 12ha of olives are cultivated.
People can reach the tree house using helical stairs and arrive at 8.50m of highness. The house is 44m2 and consists of a bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a built-in cupboard with a minibar inside. The structure is made of American red cedar, the only wood that can’t be attacked by parasites, moreover a big pipe of wood is used to bring all the systems from down to up.

Recently Mr.Stucchi built a new tree house -one of the biggest in Europe- of 87m2 on a Maritime pine of 200 years old at 7m of highness, this is one of the first luxury and high-tech tree house.
